Advancing research, education, and care for chronic itch
The National Itch Foundation (NIF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by chronic itch (pruritus). We bring together scientists, clinicians, industry partners, and patients to advance research, education, and awareness in this underserved and often debilitating condition.
What We Do

We advocate for and support research initiatives that deepen understanding of itch biology and accelerate the development of new therapies for conditions such as atopic dermatitis and other chronic itch disorders.
Educate Clinicians and Scientists
NIF provides evidence-based educational symposia led by world-recognized experts, covering cutting-edge advances in itch mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment.
Convene the Itch Community
We host a biannual national conference bringing together U.S. researchers and clinicians dedicated to itch, fostering collaboration and innovation across disciplines.
Engage Industry and Partners
NIF collaborates with industry partners and stakeholders to promote dialogue, translational research, and responsible innovation in itch therapeutics.
